In addition to borehole pumping equipment, we install all the necessary reticulation systems from domestic to commercial. All electrical work for all types of pump installations is also part of our service and this is done in accordance to South African Electrical Standards.

Location of the hidden sea
Fab Water Engineering was founded in February 1983. The main activity was the import of Caprari pumps into South Africa. During the first years a large amount of knowledge was gained in the borehole, agriculture and mining water industry. Two years later the business expanded into domestic Irrigation. Fab water engineering supplied Caprari pumps to the borehole and agriculture market for a further seven years. Due to the political circumstances in South Africa FWE and Caprari were forced to break ties. FWE continued business with local pump manufacturers and increased its dominance in the domestic irrigation market. In 1992 FWE became heavily involved with the drilling of boreholes and contract installations. The company proved its ability as a contractor and completed many government and civil projects. By 1997 FWE was well groomed in water supply systems as well as borehole engineering. FWE ran successfully as a contracting and supply company for a further decade. In 2007 Caprari pumps and FWE re developed the relationship from the previous years. The joint venture will see the success of Caprari pumps once again in South Africa and Sub Saharan Africa.
FWE has also included a domestic and light commercial pump range manufactured by OSIP and Matra pumps Italy, as well as variable frequency pump drives for constant pressure systems from the USA into the product range to provide the market with a totally integrated pump solution covering all duty requirements. The company also carry a large inventory of pipe fittings for irrigation and plumping contractors. Included in our product portfolio is Rain bird, K rain, Hunter, Naan, sump pumps, booster pumps, water feature equipment, Franklin electric submersible motors, Plasson fittings, PVC fittings and many more top quality water products.
With our direct knowledge and experience gained as a pump and borehole contractor, we believe we can better understand the requirements of each client and their application. Our mission is to provide the end user with a well engineered solution with economical operating costs and quality products.

Compressors and mud pumps
Fab water engineering supply air compressors for down the hole hammer drilling and air rotary drilling. Compressor volumes vary from 10m\c to 40m\c per min at pressure ranges between 10 to 35bar.These compressors are skid, trailer mounted or modular.
We also supply air boosters for extra high pressure drilling; these boosters can produce pressures up to 200bar.
Centrifugal and piston mud pumps are available with flows up to 2000 L/min and 35bar.

Borehole casing and screens
Fab water engineering supply PVC and steel borehole casing in lengths of 3m and 6m in diameter from 2inch to 16inch
Well screens are available in PVC, steel and stainless steel. There are different slot and screen designs available to suit your well requirements.
Borehole fluids and chemicals
There are many drilling fluids and additives available for water, environmental and exploration drilling. Fab water can supply mud and air additives including all lubricants required.
Borehole submersible turbine pumps
Fab water engineering is able to supply submersible turbine pumps in a variety of materials including cast iron and stainless steel. These turbine pumps can pump fresh and saline water with 150grams of sand per 1000 l . The submersible turbines are able to pump to heads of 400m at flows up to 500m/c. We are also able to supply submersible turbine pumps for horizontal pumping conditions. All these pumps are available in DOL and Star delta configurations with varying voltages.
Turbine pumps
Vertical turbine pumps are supplied for deep well applications with high flow expectations. Fab water engineering can supply diesel or electrically powered vertical turbines with a variety of depth and flow options. The pumps are available from 5inch to 18inch configurations with water or oil lubricated bearings.
Submersible borehole pumps
Fab water engineering can supply a variety of submersible pumps for domestic, industrial, agriculture and general purposes. These pumps are mainly 100mm in diameter with flows of up to 16m/c per hour with heads of up to 350m. The borehole pumps are constructed from a variety of materials mainly stainless steel. The pump motors are available in single or three phase DOL configurations 230v and 400v.

Helical rotor pumps
Fab water engineering supply helical rotor pumps to areas where there is no electrical power available. These pumps can also be used in deep boreholes or where high heads are required. Helical rotor pumps are available to flows up to 100m/c per hour and heads up to 700m.
Centrifugal pumps
Fab water engineering supply close coupled centrifugal pumps with flows up to 300m/c and heads of up to 110m. The close coupled pumps are available in three phase DOL and star delta. We also can supply bare shaft pumps in a variety of configurations powered by diesel or electric motors as pump sets or modular. The bare shaft range is available with flows exceeding 1000l/m and heads to 200m.
Booster pumps
Fab water engineering supply a variety of booster pumps for domestic, commercial and industrial applications. The booster pumps are available with flows of up to 120000l/h and heads of up to 180m. Booster sets from 0.25kw to 80kw are available in single phase and three phase. We can build booster sets for any application requiring constant reliable pressure.
Plunger pumps
Plunger pumps are extremely high pressure pumps designed for pressures of 800bar. These pumps are used in industrial and mining operations. Plunger pumps are built according to the requirements of the application. The pumps are available to 750kw.
Pool and miscellaneous pumps
Fab water engineering supply pumps for domestic and commercial pools. The pool pumps are available from 0.45kw to 20kw. These pump are self priming and can pump saline water. The pool pumps are available in single and three phase.
We have a variety of pumps for sewage and sump applications, also included are chemical dosing pumps.

Steel pipe and fittings
A broad range of pipe and fittings can be supplied for steam, water. Air and gas. The pipes components are available in threaded and weld on, sizes from 8mm to 600mm in black steam pipe, galvanized or bare. There are many schedule ratings available depending on application.
PVC pipe and fittings
A broad range of pipe and fittings available for water and air. The PVC pipe and fittings are glued on or push in JASWIC compatible. The pipe is available in class 4 to 16 up to 400mm.
Plastic pipe and fittings
HDPE and LDPE pipe and fittings are available in classes 3 to 16. The fittings for the low density poly ethylene pipe are available from 12mm to 100mm with the clamp on design. The high density poly ethylene pipe is available from 12mm to 160mm with the compression type fittings.

A variety of small to large fountain pumps. Available as submersible and dry type units. A full line of water treatment equipment is available for all types of fountains and ponds including the ornamental fish industry.
