BINSI DRUM BRAKES
Binsi drum brakes are fail safe brakes as the braking is spring applied.
Releasing of the brake is via an electromagnetic actuator. The brake torque is
adjustable. No oil, no oil seals and no electric motor is required, therefore
low maintenance due to minimal moving parts. Brake shoes are casted of light
metal and boxed with steel bushes for long wear. Brake linings are the bonded
type with a coefficient of friction of 0.4. Changing of brake shoes without
dismantling the brake is possible.
The high braking torque is independent of the direction of rotation due to
optimised lever geometry in connection with increased stiffness of the base
plate and brake shoe lever.
