At Reelin Bearings, we provide a high quality of services and products to railway, industrial and engineering sectors both to the original equipment and replacement markets.

In addition to the ball and roller bearings range, we also carry a full range of transmission products including belting, chain, sprockets, pulleys, couplings, industrial gearboxes, circlips, oil seals, o-rings and adhesives in order to provide a comprehensive service to our customers. All our goods are manufactured to AAR, ISO 9001/2 and QS 9000 specifications.

Daily production incentives are being provided accumulative on a monthly basis and this added income is achieved every month. Our employee of the year 2012 Sihle Bengu was sent to our JV partners, Amsted Rail's bearing factory in Richmond, VA, USA, where he received formal training and skills transfer.

Our employment ratio consists of 98% historically disadvantaged South African individuals. In 2007, Reelin, jointly with Amsted Rail Incorporated invested in a bearing facility locally with state of the art technology adhering to Transnet's specifications. This achievement enables us to supply Transnet with zero defect bearings. The plant carries an unconditional approval granted by Transnet's Principal Engineer.

On inception of our plant in 2008, we employed our staff as permanent employees all of whom are previously disadvantaged individuals. Some insight on these individuals:
  • They have been educated to handle our plant machinery with merit and have been endorsed by Transnet's engineering team.
  • Their training includes tuitions from both local and overseas engineers from Brenco.
  • They are extremely happy being permanent Reelin employees with job security and benefits.
We have approved to build a grease seal facility in the rural Dube Trade port area, KwaZulu Natal, where we will also be relocating our bearing facility anticipated to be completed by August 2014. We intend to create a further 30 jobs in this area. In addition, we are talking to a number of foundries referred by the Dept. of Science and Technology with the view to localize more of our Bearing components. This is to include end caps, backing rings, locking plates and spacers.

We are a 100% historically disadvantaged South African company, with 60% being black woman owned, carrying a BBBEE Level one contributor SANAS certified. In addition and after an extensive on site verification audit performed by Transnet Group, Reelin Bearings is recognized as one of the top four suppliers to Transnet out of 8 640, a recognition that was showcased at the Department of Public Enterprises Minister's Summit, Honourable Malusi Gigaba, at Gallagher Estate on the 14th and 15th March 2013, an achievement we are very proud of.
